How to Add Extra Audio if Your Session Fails to Generate Notes

If your session didn't generate notes due to a short or poor quality recording, you can add extra audio and try again — no need to start over.

Sometimes a session may not generate notes — this can happen if the recording was too short, had poor audio quality, or experienced a processing issue. The good news is you don't need to start over. You can add extra audio directly to the existing session and try again.

How to Add Extra Audio to an Existing Session

  1. Open the session from your dashboard

  2. Click Add Recording to attach additional audio to the same session

  3. Record your additional notes or re-record a summary of the consultation

  4. Once the new audio has uploaded, click Generate Transcript from Recording

  5. Your notes should then generate automatically from the combined audio

When to Use This

  • Your original recording was too short or mostly silence

  • The audio quality was poor (e.g. background noise, microphone too far away)

  • The session shows a transcript but no notes were generated

  • You want to add follow-up observations to an existing session

Tips for a Successful Re-Recording

  • Speak clearly and at a normal pace

  • Keep your microphone close and minimise background noise

  • A recording of at least 10 seconds generally produces better results

  • You don't need to re-record the full session — dictating a brief summary of the consultation is enough for the AI to generate structured notes

Still Not Working?
