What This Does
If you use Cliniko or Nookal as your practice management system, PatientNotes syncs your appointments and displays them in your dashboard. By default, appointments with a cancelled status will appear in that list — which can clutter your view and make it harder to focus on sessions that actually went ahead.
The Hide cancelled appointments toggle filters these out so your dashboard only shows the appointments you need to act on.
How to Turn It On or Off
1. Go to your Integrations page
In your PatientNotes dashboard, navigate to patientnotes.app/dashboard/integrations, or click Integrations in the sidebar.
2. Find your Cliniko or Nookal integration
Your connected practice management system will be listed on this page. Click into it to open the integration settings, then scroll down to the Preferences section.
3. Toggle "Hide cancelled appointments" on or off
Find the Hide cancelled appointments toggle and set it to your preference:
On — appointments with a cancelled status are hidden from your PatientNotes dashboard appointment list
Off — cancelled appointments remain visible in your dashboard (default)
The change takes effect immediately — no need to save or refresh.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this delete the cancelled appointments from Cliniko or Nookal?
No — this only affects what's displayed in your PatientNotes dashboard. Your appointments remain completely unchanged in your practice management system.
Can I turn it back off if I change my mind?
Yes — just go back to your Integrations page and toggle it off. Cancelled appointments will reappear in your dashboard immediately.
Does this work for both Cliniko and Nookal?
Yes — the Hide cancelled appointments toggle is available for both integrations. The steps are the same regardless of which system you use.
I don't see this toggle — what should I check?
This setting only appears if your Cliniko or Nookal integration is connected. If you haven't set up your integration yet, contact [email protected] for help getting started.
