Fix Session: How It Works & What To Do If It's Not Working

What the Fix Session button does, why notes may temporarily disappear during the process, and step-by-step troubleshooting if things don't go as expected.

What does the Fix Session button do?

Fix Session is designed to repair and regenerate your clinical note when something hasn't gone quite right. It works in two stages:

  1. It checks and repairs the transcript for any inconsistencies

  2. It regenerates your note based on the updated transcript

During this process, different draft versions of your note may briefly appear, disappear, or revert while the newest version is being built. This is completely normal — it doesn't mean your work is lost.

Why do my notes seem to disappear or change during Fix Session?

The system is working through the regeneration in stages. Temporary version switching is part of the process. The final version will settle once regeneration is complete — just give it a moment.

If you press Fix Session multiple times in quick succession, this can trigger several regeneration cycles at once, making the version switching more noticeable and the process slower. Press once and wait.

Step-by-step: what to do if Fix Session isn't working

  1. Press Fix Session once — then wait for the process to fully complete before doing anything else

  2. Watch the note settle — if it hasn't stabilised after a minute or two, try pressing Fix Session once more

  3. Check your transcript first — if the transcript is empty or incomplete, Fix Session won't be able to generate a useful note. Make sure the transcript has finished processing before retrying

  4. Still not working? — chat with us via the help widget. Include the session date and patient name (or session ID if you have it) so we can investigate directly

Best practices to avoid issues

  • Only use Fix Session when something has genuinely gone wrong — not as a routine step

  • Wait for the process to fully complete before pressing anything else

  • Never press Fix Session repeatedly in quick succession

  • If your transcript looks empty or cut short, contact support before using Fix Session — we may be able to recover audio first

When should I contact support instead?

Please reach out via the help widget rather than using Fix Session if:

  • Your transcript is completely empty after the session

  • No audio was captured at all

  • Fix Session has been used twice and the note still hasn't generated correctly

  • You believe there may be a technical issue with a specific session

In these cases our team can investigate at the session level and recover what's possible — something Fix Session can't do on its own.
