How to view a session transcript in PatientNotes
If a transcript has been generated for a session, here's how to find, view, and download it in the new session view:
Open the client session — go to Sessions and click the session name you want.
Make sure you're on the Context tab (it's the first tab, open by default).
Scroll down to the Recordings section.
Click the recording to expand it (it will show a status such as "Finished"). The full session transcript now displays underneath in its entirety — you don't need to open a separate tab to read it.
Use the Hide transcript / Show transcript toggle above the transcript to collapse or re-expand the text if you want more room, and the audio player to listen back to the recording.
To save a copy, use the icons above the transcript: the copy icon copies the full transcript text to your clipboard, and the download icon saves it as a .txt file to your device.
Note: the transcript lives under Context → Recordings, not under the Interaction or Clinical Note tabs. If you've been looking on those tabs, head back to Context and scroll to Recordings.
Can't see a transcript?
If you open the recording under Context → Recordings and there's no transcript there — it's empty, hasn't loaded, failed, or is still processing — then the transcript hasn't been generated yet, rather than being somewhere you haven't looked. That's a different situation, and this guide won't help.
Follow Recording, transcript or note problem? Start here instead — most sessions repair automatically within about an hour, and that guide walks you through what to do if the transcript still doesn't appear.
