Missing Notes or Transcript? How to Manually Generate Your Clinical Note

What to do when your recording saved but the transcript or clinical note hasn't been generated — including step-by-step instructions and when to contact support.

Why hasn't my note been generated?

Sometimes a recording saves successfully but the transcript — and therefore the clinical note — hasn't been generated yet. This can happen due to session length, a loading delay, or occasionally AI processing limitations with longer or more complex recordings.

The good news is you can manually trigger note generation in a few simple steps.

Step 1: Open the recording details

  1. Open the session where the note is missing

  2. Go to Consent

  3. Under Recording, click View recording details

  • Navigate to the session where the transcript or clinical note is missing.

This opens a screen showing the transcript and the recording(s) for that session.

Step 2: Generate the transcript

  1. On the recording details screen, click Generate transcript on the right

  2. Wait for it to complete — this may take a minute or two depending on session length

  3. If the transcript doesn't appear immediately, wait a short while and try again

  • Ensure the transcript generation process has fully completed before refreshing the Notes tab.

Note: Very long sessions or complex recordings can occasionally produce incomplete output due to AI processing limitations. This is not a user error — if it happens repeatedly on the same session, contact support.

Step 3: Return to your notes

  1. Go back to the session Notes tab

  2. Refresh the page or close and reopen the session

  3. Check whether the clinical note has now appeared

If the note still doesn't appear, try switching the note template to a different one and then back to the original. This can refresh the note display and repopulate saved content.

  • Verify that the transcript generation process has completed before attempting to refresh the Notes tab.

When contacting support, please include:

  • The session name or patient name

About Patient Summaries

Patient Summaries are an opt-in feature that lets you generate an overview across multiple sessions for a patient. You can generate summaries on demand or enable automatic generation for every session in your settings.

If your Patient Summary isn't generating, follow the same steps above — check that the individual session transcripts have been generated first, as summaries are built from those.

Additional Tips for Viewing Existing Transcripts

If you only want to view an existing transcript without generating a new one:

  • Open the session’s "Recordings" section.

  • Click on "View recording details."

  • Scroll to the "Transcription" section to view the existing transcript.
