What's covered in the video

1. Getting to your Patient Summary template

Go to Templates → Patient Summary and click Edit on your template. If you see Upgrade to V2 instead — that does exactly the same thing.

2. Two ways to build your template

Once you're in the editor you have two options:

  • Craft with AI — describe what you want and the AI builds or adjusts the template for you

  • Custom — build it manually with headings, text sections, tables, intros, and outros exactly how you want them

3. Paste an existing summary as your sample

Already written a great patient summary? Copy and paste it in as a sample. Tell the AI to fully adjust to that layout and it will restructure your template to match your style — including sections like What We Found, Action Items, and What You Need to Know.

4. Add tables for structured data

You can add more than just text sections. Drop in a medication table and it will automatically populate with any medications mentioned in the session. Headers, text blocks, tables — you have full control over the structure.

5. Save and set document rules

Once you're happy with the structure, save it, then head into Document Rules to control the level of detail, tone, and formatting. You may see some validation warnings — these are helpful flags, you can accept and move on.

6. Add merge fields for a PDF-ready output

Drop in your merge fields — logo at the top, clinic name, address — and your patient summary becomes a properly
