What is the PatientNotes Extension?
The PatientNotes Chrome Extension adds a floating launch button to your practice management software (Pogozo or Nookal), letting you open a new PatientNotes session in one click — with the patient's name pre-filled automatically.
It also adds a paste button directly inside answer fields so you can instantly push your completed note from PatientNotes into Pogozo without copying and pasting manually.
💡 Nookal users — you may not need this
If you use Nookal, PatientNotes has a direct native integration that syncs your notes automatically — no Chrome extension required. The extension is available as an alternative if you prefer it, but for most Nookal users the native integration is the better experience. Learn more about the Nookal integration →
Installation
1. Open the Chrome Web Store. Click here to install PatientNotes Launcher (Plus) — or searchPatientNotes Launcherin the Chrome Web Store.
2. Add to Chrome Click "Add to Chrome", then "Add extension" when prompted.
3 Pin the extension Click the puzzle icon 🧩 in your Chrome toolbar → find PatientNotes → click the pin icon to keep it visible
4. You're ready Open Pogozo or Nookal — the PatientNotes icon will appear automatically.
🔄 Already installed an older version?
Chrome updates extensions automatically. To force an update now: go to chrome://extensions → enable Developer Mode (top right) → click Update.
Display Modes
Click the extension icon in your toolbar → Settings to choose how PatientNotes opens.
🖥️ Split-screen tip
With Single Tab mode: click the FAB to open PatientNotes once, then drag the tab to one side of your screen. From then on, every new session loads straight into that tab — no tab clutter, no extra windows.
Using the Extension on Pogozo
Starting a new session
A floating PatientNotes icon (the FAB) appears on the right side of every Pogozo page. Click it once to:
Open PatientNotes with the patient's name pre-filled
Load directly to New Session — ready to record
Pasting your note back into Pogozo
Once your session is complete and you've copied the output from PatientNotes:
Click into the Subjective, Objective/Assessment, or any Answer field in Pogozo
The PatientNotes paste icon appears in the bottom-right corner of the field
Click the icon — your note is pasted instantly
📋 Paste icon tips
The paste icon only appears when you focus or hover over an answer field. Your clipboard content is pasted as-is from PatientNotes — no reformatting needed.
Keyboard Shortcut
⌘ Cmd + Shift + Y on Mac · Ctrl + Shift + Y on Windows
Opens a new PatientNotes session from any tab — no need to click the FAB.
Troubleshooting
Problem | Fix |
FAB icon not visible | Move your mouse to the right edge of the Pogozo page — the icon fades in when your cursor is nearby. |
Paste icon not appearing in fields | Click directly into the Answer field first. The icon appears on focus or hover. |
Clicking FAB does nothing | Check that PatientNotes is logged in. Try refreshing the Pogozo page. |
Patient name not pre-filling | Make sure you're on the patient record page in Pogozo before clicking the FAB. |
