What this feature does
This Early Access feature enhances your Cliniko integration in two ways:
Last completed session — When you start a session in PatientNotes, the patient's most recently completed appointment from Cliniko is automatically loaded, giving you instant access to previous clinical context.
Linked contact details — The patient's contact information stored in Cliniko is pulled through and linked to the client record in PatientNotes.
We recommend ensuring your Cliniko contacts are linked to the correct client records in PatientNotes to get the most out of this feature.
How to enable it
This feature is available as an Early Access opt-in from your profile settings. To turn it on:
Click your profile icon in the top-right corner of PatientNotes.
Select Profile from the dropdown menu.
Scroll down to the Early Access Features section.
Toggle on Load Last Completed Session from Cliniko.
Save your settings.
Once enabled, the next session you start from your dashboard will automatically pull in the patient's last completed Cliniko appointment and their linked contact details.
Linking contacts to clients
For contact details to load correctly, your Cliniko contact records should be linked to the corresponding client in PatientNotes. We recommend checking this before relying on the feature in a live session.
If a contact isn't linked, PatientNotes will still attempt to match by name and email — but manual linking ensures accuracy, especially where patients share names or have multiple records.
Requirements
Your Cliniko integration must be connected in PatientNotes — go to Settings → Integrations to confirm.
Your PatientNotes login email must match the email used in your Cliniko account.
Appointments must be marked as completed in Cliniko for the last session to load.
