Billing, Trial & Subscription FAQ

Answers to common questions about trials, plans, upgrades, invoices and what happens when your trial ends.

What happens when my free trial ends?

Your trial runs for 14 days from the date you signed up. When it ends, you'll need to subscribe to continue using PatientNotes. You won't lose any of your notes or templates — everything is saved and accessible once you subscribe.

If you don't subscribe, your account will be paused and you won't be able to create new sessions.

Can I extend my trial?

Trial extensions are handled by our team — contact us with the email you signed up with and how much more time you need. More on trial extensions

What's the difference between the Individual, Team and Clinic plans?

Individual plan — for solo clinicians. One user, full access to all note-generation features.

Team plan — for practices with 2–4 clinicians. Shared templates, individual logins, admin dashboard.

Clinic plan — for larger practices (5+). Everything in Team, plus priority support and volume pricing.

You can compare plans and pricing at patientnotes.app/pricing.

Do you offer discounts or annual plans?

Contact us and we'll talk through the options for your practice. Discounts, annual plans and team pricing

How do I upgrade to a paid plan?

Go to Settings → Subscription inside your PatientNotes account and select the plan that suits your practice. Payment is processed securely via Stripe.

I received an unpaid or invoice email — what do I do?

This usually means a payment attempt failed. Check your card details are up to date — see Updating your subscription. If the issue persists, contact us via the chat widget and we'll help sort it out.

Can I get a copy of my invoice?

Yes — the account Owner can download invoices and receipts from your subscription page → Manage plan → Invoice history. Can't see Manage plan?

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes. Go to Settings → Subscription → Cancel plan. Your access will continue until the end of your current billing period. If you have any concerns about cancelling, please chat with us first — we may be able to help.
