Additional Context Feature — Plan Availability & Alternatives

What the Additional Context feature is, which plan includes it, and what Essential plan users can do instead.

What is Additional Context?

Additional Context is a feature that allows you to add extra information to a session before or during your consultation — such as referral letters, previous notes, or background information — to help PatientNotes generate a more accurate and complete clinical note.

Which plan includes Additional Context?

Additional Context is available on the Professional plan only. It is not included on the Essential plan.

If you're on the Essential plan and can't see the Additional Context box, this is expected behaviour — it's not a bug.

I'm on the Essential plan — what can I do instead?

On the Essential plan you can still improve your note quality by:

  • Adding extra audio — record additional context verbally at the start or end of your session

  • Editing your note directly — add any missing information manually after the note is generated

How do I upgrade to access Additional Context?

Go to Settings → Subscription to view and upgrade your plan. You can compare plans at patientnotes.app/pricing.
