Quick answers to the most common "where is it?" and "how do I?" questions about the new session page and V2 templates. Each answer links to the full guide.

The session page
What are the three tabs?
Context: patient and appointment details, any background loaded for the session, and Recordings (audio and full transcript).
Interaction: a space to jot quick notes while you record.
Clinical Note: your generated note to review, refine, edit and sign off, plus letters, reports and patient summaries once the note is complete.
How do I change or improve a generated note?
Use the refine / feedback box on the Clinical Note tab. Type what you want changed in plain language and regenerate, for example "Make the plan a numbered list", "Shorter and more concise", or "Only use the conversation up to when I said 'see you next week'". You can also edit the note directly.
If you find yourself making the same change every time, update your template instead so it's right from the start. See How do I change how a section is written?
Where's my transcript?
Context tab → scroll to Recordings → click the recording to expand it. Use the copy icon to copy it or the download icon to save a .txt file. It isn't on the Interaction or Clinical Note tabs. Where to find transcripts
The Interaction tab is missing or empty
The Interaction tab is on by default for trial users. Paid users can switch it on or off in Settings → Profile → Preferences. It's only for notes you jot during a session, so it's normal for it to be empty. Turning the Interaction tab on or off
I have a transcript but no note. How do I get one?
Refresh first, as most recent sessions repair themselves within about an hour. If a Fix Session button appears on the session, press it once. If there's no Fix Session button, it didn't work, or the session is more than a day old, message us in the chat with the patient or session name and date, and our team will regenerate the note for you. Full steps
How do I type or paste notes instead of recording?
Click New Session, then on the Start a new session screen click the click here link next to "To enter clinical notes manually". Nookal and Cliniko users can also choose Use my notes from the dashboard. Your notes are kept exactly as you wrote them (no template or refinement is applied), and you can generate letters, reports and patient summaries from them. More on Enter Manually
How do I choose which template a session uses?
Pick it from the template dropdown before you press Start. It shapes the whole note. To redraft an existing session's note in a different template, choose the new template from the template dropdown on the session and redraft.
How do I make a letter, report or patient summary?
Once the clinical note is complete, generate it straight from the session. Using Letters and Reports templates
Wrong patient, or the recording ran too long?
You can't move or trim a recording yet, but you can get a clean note. How to fix it
V2 templates
My note only shows the template headings and wording, with no content
This means the template's sections are set as fixed text, so they print exactly as written instead of being filled from your session. Each heading needs a content-generating block underneath with a short instruction, for example under "Concerns": Summarise the concerns the patient or caregiver raised in the session.
Open the template from Templates.
In the Custom tab, add an AI Text, AI List or AI Table block under each heading, with an instruction for what to capture.
Use the Test tab to run it against a real session before using it with patients.
Or open Craft with AI and describe what you want, and it can rebuild the sections for you. How to use Craft with AI. Prefer we do it? Send us a de-identified example of how the finished note should look and we'll build the template for you.
I've been told to change "If Discussed" to "Always" in the right-hand panel, but I can't find it
That setting only exists in V1 (legacy) templates. V2 templates don't have a right-hand panel or an Always / If Discussed toggle.
In V2, sections appear by default. A section only hides when it's been made conditional: you click a section and use the green Make Conditional button to show it only when the topic was discussed. If a section isn't appearing, check whether it's been made conditional. Using the Clinical Notes tab in Templates
If your note is showing headings with no content at all, that's a different issue. See the answer above.
How do I add a table to my template?
Two ways: add an AI Table block to a section from the Custom tab, or click a section in the Rules tab and set its output format to table.
How do I change how a section is written (bullets, paragraphs, detail)?
Open the Rules tab and click the section to set its output format: sentence, paragraph, direct quote, list, table, or labelled sections. Add Rules covers punctuation, level of detail, information order, dates and measurements. Or describe the change in plain language in Craft with AI.
How do I check a template before using it?
Use the Test tab to run the template against a real session and see the output. Adjust, then test again.
Prefer a video?
Watch the template masterclass, which walks through building content-generating sections step by step.
